The Head of State, President Paul Biya has always proven his acts of solidarity since he ascended to the helm as guarantor to social peace and security.
Here he comes with another gesture of solidarity to Cameroonians in distress. It is no news that the socio-political turmoil plaguing the North West and South west regions of Cameroon has been preoccupying to all Cameroonians following the violence perpetrated by the secessionist terrorist groups.
These terrorist groups have caused enormous destruction like the assassination of civilians coupled with the forces of law and order , the destruction of schools and public buildings, threats to human life and kidnapping, fake propaganda which has an enormous repercussion to the economy and the social climate.
As a guarantor of security and persons, the Head of State, President Paul Biya couldn’t have folded his arms towards the plight of the people in the North West and South West Rgions who are living in suffering, trapped due to the insecurity atmosphere of the North West and South West regions.
It’s for this reason that the Head of State launched the humanitarian emergency plan in the North West and South west regions. This operation no doubt is nothing less than offering assistance to the affected zones. The plan has as objective to reconstruct and invest in the infrastructures which will permit the population to regain their dignity and pride.
Such an initiative by the Head of State necessitates mobilization of material and financial resources of the state, as well as Cameroonians not forgetting the international community. This gesture by the state under the command of the head of state was evident in the mobilization during natural catastrophes like the lake Nyos disaster, diverse flooding in the Northern regions of the country, the Nsam fire disaster, excesses of the Boko Haram sect, the list is in exhaustive.
In each of these cases sited, the National and international community, religious ethnic and political classes have proven their confidence to the affected population to which they hold so close to their hearts, thus portraying a sense patriotism and national unity.
One of the glaring examples is that of solidarity and generosity, wherein over 2.5 million was contributed by Cameroonians to support the defence forces and security forces likewise the displaced persons in the fight against the Boko Haram sect in the Far North region.
