The crises rocking the South West and North West regions have not left inhabitants of the other regions indifferent.
For the past two years the regions of the South West and North West of Cameroon have suffered tremendous consequences from terrorist activities carried out by some rebels and some individuals who wished to tear Cameroon apart. Persons have been assassinated and brutalized schools, homes and government structures have been burnt down to ashes or destroyed, people have been internally displaced or have crossed the border of the country to search for peace and education. The sufferings of these people have not left the government indifferent reasons why following the instructions of the Head of State President Paul Biya, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang on June 20, 20l8 launched the Emergency Humanitarian Assistant Plan for the North West and South West regions.
Since the launching of this Emergency Plan, Cameroonians from east to west and from north to south, like one man have all come to the table to cheap in their contributions aimed at alleviating the plight of the population of both regions. It kicked started on the same day it was launched with the English speaking community in Yaounde, the regions of Adamawa, South, Center, North and Littoral followed suit and the process is still going on with the other regions announcing their participation in the days ahead. Touched by the wave of violence and pain inflicted on compatriots, Cameroonians in the other regions could not be still. The level of adhesion to this governments initiative by the population is telling of the general concern of Cameroonians to see their country more harmonious, one and indivisible. The show of solidarity from brothers and sisters from the other regions of the national territory is illustrative of the sign of collective wellbeing deemed necessary by the citizens of Cameroon. This show of solidarity is not coming up for the first time, it was glaring during the fight against the Boko Haram rebel group during which Cameroonians gathered resources to assist their brethren who had suffered from the violence carried out by the sect. The unity, peace and solidarity of Cameroon, have always been the Head of States priority in driving Cameroon towards an emerging nation come 2035 and Cameroonians readily stand in support of his views.
